Overview
Modelyn AI (“Modelyn”, “we”, “us”) operates modelyn.uk and the Modelyn engineering workspace. This policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, and the choices available to you.
We provide CFD workflow intelligence — not a CFD solver. Data you submit may include contact details, professional information, and engineering study content entered in the workspace.
Data controller
The data controller is Modelyn AI. For privacy requests, contact us through the Contact page at modelyn.uk/contact.
Data we collect
Depending on how you use Modelyn, we may process:
- Identity and contact data — name, work email, role, and messages submitted through contact or early-access forms.
- Workspace data — study intent, engineering dossier inputs, validation outcomes, and export metadata you enter in the application.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and server logs required to operate and secure the service.
- Usage data — feature interaction, session activity, and diagnostic events needed to maintain reliability.
How we use data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Modelyn workspace and website.
- Respond to inquiries, onboarding requests, and support messages.
- Run continuous validation, dossier generation, and export workflows you initiate.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Legal bases (UK / EEA)
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract — to deliver the workspace and services you request.
- Legitimate interests — to secure the platform, improve product quality, and communicate about your account or inquiry.
- Consent — where required for optional communications or non-essential cookies.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with law.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. We share data with infrastructure and service providers that host, deliver, or support Modelyn — for example cloud hosting, email delivery, and error monitoring — under contracts that require appropriate safeguards.
We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Modelyn, our users, or others.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Workspace project data is retained while your account or project remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter unless you request deletion and deletion is not prohibited by law.
International transfers
If personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we implement appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms recognised by applicable law.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is consent-based and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us through modelyn.uk/contact. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies required for site functionality, security, and session management. Non-essential analytics or preference cookies, if introduced, will be described in a cookie notice and used only with consent where required.
Children
Modelyn is intended for professional engineering use and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or by email where appropriate.
